The Cheif minister of Telangana Mr Chandra Shekhar Rao and his cabinet has decided to revoke the GO111 which was issued by the erstwhile TDP government to protect the osman sagar lake and Himayat sagar lake and to irradicate the illegal constructions. Earlier the Osman sagar lake and Himayat sagar lake are main source of drinking water in Hyderabad. But things go on changing, both rivers were polluting by the illegal concrete constructions and Industrial waste. So, the TDP government with the National Green Tribunal issued GO111.
What is GO(111) and what are included?
GO111 is nothing but the Government order of 111 stating that,
1) No Industries and illegal constructions were established in the radius of 10 kilometers from the lake.
2) This is also called as Buffer Zone where 60% of the total land should be open space.
3) 1.32 Lakh acres were included in the GO111 (84 Villages in 6 mandals)
4) Main places are Shamshabad,Chandanagar, Moinabad, Rajendranagar, and chevella.
Till now the plots near Osman sagar and Himayat sagar remain vacant or used for agriculture
