Nato (north atlantic treaty organisation) was formed in 4 april 1949. The main objective of nato is to maintain peace and coordination among the membership countries.At the time of formation their were 12 countries in it . later ,till now there are 30 countries. Nato was formed after the second world war .

Its main purpose is to mutual defence  in response to an attack by external party.the head quaters of nato situvated at haren brussels in belgium.its [resent secretary general is Jens stolen berg. And officail languages are english and french.The recently joined country is north macedonia in 27th march 2020.

recently the countries came to an agreement that they will maintain 2% of their gdp for defence.
